Nov. 17, 2017 – Jergens Inc. was honored by Cleveland State University’s (CSU) Waskewicz College of Engineering Fenn Co-Op Program as an industry partner during the college’s Employer and Student Appreciation Night earlier this month. Cleveland State University’s Fenn Co-Op program or Center for Engineering Experiential Learning Office (CEEL) encompasses cooperative education, internships, senior design/capstone as well as many industry collaborative initiatives. CEEL provides a link between the classroom and the workplace for students to learn about her/his area of academic interest through practical experience. Jergens actively participates in recruiting its co-op students through this program and other local colleges and institutions.

Another time-saving solution which ultimately leads to increased efficiency (and no small amount of sanity-retention) is the universal, quick-change vice and ‘Drop & Lock’ pallet from Jergens. This 125mm vice, coupled with 96mm Drop & Lock pallet work in unison to provide speedy access to parts, as well as lightning fast swap out.

 Last month, Jergens Inc. was recognized by Gov. John Kasich and the State of Ohio as a leader in manufacturing and presented with a proclamation for Manufacturing Month 2017. This proclamation appoints October as an official celebration month for manufacturing as part of an international effort to bring awareness to the industry’s economic impact.

September 26, 2017 - Jergens, Inc. and MachiningCloud jointly announce their partnership to provide Jergens' product data on the Cloud.  Jergens manufactures standard tooling components, vises and other workholding equipment. MachiningCloud is a product data provider for cutting tools, CNC machines and workholding.

B.C. Instruments, headquartered north of Toronto in Schomberg, Ontario has been serving customers in the aerospace, plastic injection molding, medical, nuclear, defense and electronic industries since 1971. The company has grown organically, adding locations and expanding its workforce, now boasting a current size of 57,000 square feet with 145 employees. Five years ago, its Orillia, Ontario division was located half-an-hour southwest on Highway 11 in a tiny leased space in Barrie. After realizing a market need, B.C. Instruments decided to move to the Orillia facility. This 10,000 square foot shop provides precision machining capabilities to a variety of industries.
